URGENT CALL TO ACTION!
SEVERE STORM DAMAGE TO SHELTER IN HAMMOND
Haven House, a domestic violence shelter in Hammond, sustained significant damage to the facility’s roof and
windows when a large tree fell onto the shelter’s building during a severe storm this week. The damage forced
evacuation of everyone residing there. All residents have been temporarily relocated to area hotels while
repairs are made.
This is an incredibly difficult situation for these families. Many of them are women and children who had
already fled abusive homes in search of safety, only to be displaced once again by this devastating storm.
Please consider making a donation to help offset these unexpected costs of repairs and emergency hotel
accommodations. Every donation, no matter the size, will help Haven House continue to provide a safe place
for those who need it most.
